Dear Jenny,
I have known you for more than a year. I discovered that you are a wonderful girl that I have known. The reason for this letter is to acknowledge you that today is the last day that I’m seeing you. And today is the day that I stop my chase which is you. I have always been your pillar of strength but I realise that I can never be with you.
I still remember the first day we met at Toa Payoh when the hub is still not finished yet. I helped you with your school project at MacDonalds using my notebook and at the mean time we get to know each other and started to joke around. And I would like to share you a secret, which I never did tell you. There was two malay girls sitting somewhere near us gave a passing comment that I happen to hear. One of the girl said that we are a perfect match as they assume we are a couple. Yeah, that’s the untold secret.
Okay after the project, we headed to the cinema planning to catch a show but none interests us, so we then headed to Jurong park to chill out. We took pictures, played the swing and I carried you around. I still remember the song that you were singing the whole day! Haha, which is ‘where is your boyfriend’ by Fall Out Boys.
Then we headed back to MacDonalds because you mum wanted Fillet O Fish. So you, being a good daughter getting it for her. You started to queue while I went to check my macdonalds ezlink card points. Then I passed it to you and you started to fold the paper into a boat. That’s where our boat comes from, remember? This was the part when you were queueing up and I pop out a very silly question that made you very angry. I asked you whether any of your friends ever called you ‘gala’? That was the start where you stopped talking to me. And we ended our day just like that.
While i was in the train on my way back, you text me revealing how you felt when I pop the question. I felt bad and we didn’t keep in touch for a very long time. Till one fine evening I was walking around Paragon with Peter and he decided to take a look in Armani Exchange for some clothes. While I was browsing through the clothes I heard a person calling out my name, when I looked up, I saw you. I stunt for awhile we talk a little and did exchange numbers. That’s when we started to keep in touch again.
We celebrated our one year of friendship day on 25th February 2008 which is at Sentosa which we had picnic and took tons of pictures that I’ve yet to give it to you. I still remember your salmon spaghetti which u made for me and followed by some cookies! After the picnic we headed down to Cathay to catch “ah long” and I must say it was fun! That’s what we have done together, I really enjoy myself back then but now it has become history of us.
I hope you will do fine without me (Gerald) around anymore. I think its time for me to find myself a girlfriend to lean on. I would love to feel a girl showering love on me, haven’t had that for a very long time. There’s a saying that goes like this “ if you really love something, let it go”.
